Sonicwall Mobile Connect VPN Client on Surface Laptops (Windows 11 ARM)
Initial Setup
The SonicWall Mobile Client is available for VPN access on Surface laptops on which NetExtender and Global VPN Client aren’t compatible. The mobile client can be installed from the Windows Store:

After opening or installing the app it will load the
following. Select Manage:
Select OK on the
Alert:
The following settings page will load. Select Add VPN:
This will load the Add
a VPN Connection menu:
In the VPN Provider dropdown, select SonicWall Mobile Connect.
In the Connection Name
field, add a name for the connection such as PLS VPN.
In the Server name or
address field, copy and paste the preferred VPN address from the below list:

The Username and Password fields will be unavailable and can be left blank.
Set the Remember my sign-in info as desired, then Save.
This will bring up the Windows VPN settings page. Locate your newly added VPN and select Connect:
If the following notification appears, select Next:
When prompted, enter your PLS login info and select OK:
When prompted, enter the verification code from the
Microsoft Authenticator app:
When complete, the new VPN should now show as Connected:
Returning to the SonicWall Mobile Connect app will now show the
VPN on and the Status as Connected:
You are now connected to the VPN and can work as if you were connected to the network at the branch server selected previously.
Disconnecting from
the VPN
To disconnect from the VPN when the connection is no
longer needed, return to the SonicWall Mobile Connect app and click On slider for the VPN option:
Select OK on the
alert which loads:
On the windows settings page, select Disconnect next to the VPN to which you are currently connected:
This will disconnect you from the VPN and it should now show
as Off in the app:
Reconnecting to the VPN After Initial Setup
To reconnect to the VPN at a later time, open the SonicWall
Mobile Connect app and click the Off slider to set it to On:
This will load the Windows VPN settings. The previously
added VPN should be listed here. Click Connect:
Enter your PLS username, password, and authenticator key when prompted and the VPN will reconnect.
