Block SPAM/Nuisance Number
This article describes how to "block" a specific "SPAM" or nuisance number from ringing at your extension by setting up a Routing List, Contact and Call Rule for the number. This applies only to the Norman locations.
Create A SPAM Call Routing List
- If not installed, have Vertical Wave Viewpoint installed on your pc
- Open Wave Viewpoint and login
- Select New>>Routing List>>Routing List Editor
- Name it, SPAM
- Click on Step 1 and select Edit Action and change from "Call Primary Device.." to "Play greeting" and select OK
- Select the "If not answered or busy tab" and uncheck Play greeting and under Final action select Hang Up and select OK
Create A SPAM Contact for the Nuisance Number
- Select Contacts
- Select New>>Contact
- Input a Name (like SPAM)
- Select Edit
- Type in the nuisance number including area code using no spaces or special characters (e.g. 4051111234) add SPAM as a description and select OK twice
Create A SPAM Rule
- Select Tools>>Call Rules
- Select New Rule
- Under Step 1 put a check mark next to from people or group
- Under Step 2 click on people or group
- Under This Call Rule will apply to select "the selected Contact"
- Select the SPAM contact entry and select OK>>Next
- Put a check mark next to follow specified Routing List
- Under Step 2 select the link "specified"
- Under Use This Routing List select SPAM and select Next
- Input a name for the Call Rule (like SPAM and the phone number) and select Finish>>Close
- Staff can right click future spam calls in their history and associate more numbers with the SPAM contact.
