What are Laptops Anytime
They supplement public desktop computers by offering flexibility in where customers can work and by providing access to webcams and microphones for meetings or virtual programs.
Laptops Anytime machines are self-service kiosks that allow customers to check out a laptop for use while inside the library.
They supplement public desktop computers by offering flexibility in where customers can work and by providing access to webcams and microphones for meetings or virtual programs.
Technology provides troubleshooting and maintenance, and may escalate to Laptops Anytime for further assistance.
How They Work

Customers must have a valid library card to check out a laptop.

These laptops are not part of the public computer reservation system and therefore do not display the standard public PC login screen.

Each laptop is pre-configured with approved software; customers cannot install additional programs.

All user data is automatically erased when a laptop is returned to the kiosk.
Common staff tasks include:
- Access the Light Admin page to:
- Eject laptops
- Block/Unblock slots
