Microsoft Teams Shifts is a user-friendly tool for scheduling staff. It provides visibility into weekly hours worked, allows part-time staff to request time off, enables employees to enter availability, and supports adding notes for specific programs.
However, a significant limitation is the lack of native synchronization between Teams Shifts and Outlook calendars. Having this capability would greatly enhance usability and efficiency.
Based on information from Microsoft Build resources, a potential solution involves using Microsoft Power Automate to bridge this gap. The proposed approach is to create an automated workflow (“flow”) that monitors changes in Teams Shifts and reflects those updates in Outlook calendars.
Proposed Integration Overview:
This approach leverages standard Microsoft 365 services and eliminates the need for manual duplication. Once configured, synchronization would occur in near real-time.
Key Tools & Components:
Please note: The account running the flow must have active connections to Microsoft Teams, Office 365 Outlook, and (optionally) Office 365 Users for proper functionality.
This would make scheduling and communication vastly easier.
Thank you for your consideration.
